WARSAW, NY — July 21, 2017

The Greater Warsaw Chamber of Commerce for years and has heard from residents and businesses that the area needs another hotel, motel or bed & breakfast. Often, people want to come to town to attend a high school reunion or wedding but think they will have to impose on their family and friends for a place to stay or be forced to book a hotel further away.  Now, the village does have another option for travelers; a short-term rental.

Amy and Todd Clark had been renting their Warsaw home in the usual way to a terrific tenant. When that person moved away, the Clarks thought they might have a problem finding another reliable, long term tenant. The couple had recently been on a road trip where they stayed in an “Airbnb” adobe house in Texas and in a repurposed shipping container in New Mexico.  The idea of becoming hosts themselves seemed like a solution to their own problem while providing a service to the Warsaw area.

Amy said “We enjoy traveling and have used Airbnb often to find interesting, economical places to stay while we are away from home.  We think it’s much more fun to stay in a residential area than in a hotel next to a major highway.  And, there’s no better way to get the feel of a community than live right in it.”

The concept of renting a whole house or just a single room for a few days or a month has been around for a long time. But now, technology makes it very easy for hosts and travelers to connect.  It is easy for the property owner to list the property and it is simple for the traveler to search the site and make all the arrangements on-line themselves.

This three-bedroom home is centrally located within walking distance of all of Warsaw’s attractions on Main and West Buffalo Streets as well as a block from the village park. Go to Airbnb.com and search listings in Warsaw for more information about rates and amenities.

The Greater Warsaw Chamber of Commerce is committed to supporting businesses in the Warsaw area and advocating for community interests.   For more information, please visit warsawchamber.com and find us on Facebook.
